He-Man Returns: Travis Knight’s Masters of The Universe Trailer Released; Set for June 2026 Release
The wait is finally over for fans of Eternia. After months of intense anticipation and teasing, Amazon MGM Studios has officially released the first trailer for Masters of the Universe. This new live-action sci-fi action adventure, directed by Travis Knight, looks to bring one of pop culture’s most loved franchises back to the big screen in a spectacular fashion. The film reimagines the iconic saga with a fresh perspective. The story follows Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, who has been away from home for fifteen years. He is eventually summoned back to his home world, Eternia, by the mystical Sword of Power. However, the homecoming is far from peaceful. Upon his arrival, Adam discovers that his world is held in the iron grip of the ruthless villain Skeletor, played by Jared Leto.
With his kingdom standing on the brink of total destruction, Prince Adam must reunite with his most trusted allies to lead a resistance. The film stars Camila Mendes as Teela and Idris Elba as Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms. To save his people, Adam must embrace his ultimate destiny and transform into He-Man, known famously as the most powerful man in the universe. The project boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Alongside Galitzine, Leto, Elba, and Mendes, the film stars Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley. Adding a unique touch to the legendary characters, Kristen Wiig provides the voice for Roboto.
Promising an epic scale paired with high-octane action and emotional depth, the film aims to bring the beloved world of Mattel’s franchise to life for a new generation of viewers. Theatres are expected to roar with the character’s signature catchphrase, “I have the power!”
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios, Masters of the Universe will be distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing International. The film is scheduled to hit cinemas across India on 5 June 2026. Fans can expect a premium viewing experience, as the movie will be released theatrically in IMAX and other premium formats. To cater to a wide audience across the country, it will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
