Andromeda Is Hiring: Who Wants To Build Robots?

Purpose Ventures-backed Andromeda Robotics, the company behind the humanoid robot Abi, is recruiting new team members across Australia and the United States as it continues on its mission to bring companion robots like Abi to everyone. You may have seen Abi on stage at West Tech Fest last year. 

Among the positions now open are customer-facing roles based in Perth, where facilitators will work alongside Abi in aged-care homes, leading sessions that blend conversation, music, and play to foster meaningful social connection among residents.

The hiring push follows the rollout of Andromeda’s first Genesis Abi model, a humanoid robot designed to offer companionship and cognitive engagement for people in aged care. Founder and CEO Grace Brown says the company’s work sits “at the intersection of language, movement, and meaning,” aiming to create technology that feels human in the moments that matter most.

The company’s growth comes on the back of a $23 million Series A funding round, led by Forerunner with participation from Rethink Impact, Main Sequence, and Visible Ventures, joining Purpose Ventures, which led its Seed round. The investment is helping Andromeda scale its production capacity in Melbourne and expand its mission globally.

Brown has called for “sharp, curious minds” to join Andromeda’s team, particularly those eager to build the impossible and help define the future of human-robot connection. 

The available roles are:

Engineering & Manufacturing

• Autonomy Engineer (Melbourne / San Francisco) — Tackle one of robotics’ hardest problems: human-safe navigation. Starts with A→B and goes far beyond.
• Principal Electronics Engineer (Melbourne) — Own the hardware architecture, mentor the team, and set the company’s electrical vision.
• Simulation & Test Engineers (Melbourne) — Build Abi’s virtual proving ground, from voice testing to full autonomy regression.
• Head of Manufacturing (Melbourne) — Build and scale Australia’s first humanoid production line. 1,000+ robots/month. No pressure.

Customer Experience

• Customer Success Facilitators (Melbourne, Perth, San Francisco) — Lead sessions alongside Abi in aged-care homes, driving real connection through conversation, games, and music.
