Actor Arjun Kapoor has disabled comments on his Instagram after a viral meme featuring him spiralled out of control across social media. A five-second clip from a 2017 press event for Half Girlfriend has resurfaced, placing the actor at the centre of internet mockery.
The seemingly ordinary moment from the promotions, where Arjun is seen staring blankly alongside co-star Shraddha Kapoor, was repurposed by meme creators. By stripping away the original audio and adding the track Ho Underworld by Dada Sadhu, they created what is now being called the Arjun Kapoor meme song. The catchy beat and street-style energy of the song helped the meme explode across reels, parodies, and edits online.

Soon, Arjun’s social media was flooded with comments referencing the meme, appearing even on unrelated posts from his recent London vacation with cousin Mohit Marwah, designer Arpita Mehta, and close friend Kunal Rawal. The actor’s cousin Sonam Kapoor also joined the trip, which included shopping outings, dinners, and relaxed family moments. However, the meme commentary became so overwhelming that Arjun eventually chose to disable comments on his latest Instagram posts.

 


 

Despite the online storm, Arjun continues to keep busy on the professional front. Earlier this year, he starred in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, a romantic comedy alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. Released in February, the film received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office. Before that, he appeared in The Ladykiller, a dark romantic thriller where he played a troubled lover trapped in a dangerous web of passion and deceit.

While the actor has not publicly addressed the meme storm, his decision to restrict comments signals his intent to keep social media chatter at bay. For now, fans and critics alike are waiting to see how the episode impacts his online presence and whether Arjun Kapoor will respond to the viral trend that has unexpectedly put him back in the spotlight.
