Asha Bhosle’s Last Rites to Be Held at Shivaji Park on April 13
Asha Bhosle has sadly passed away at the age of 92. She breathed her last at the Breach Candy Hospital due to multi-organ failure. Her son Anand Bhosle has shared details about her final rites. He confirmed that it will be held at Shivaji Park on April 13, 2026.

Talking to the media, Anand said, “Meri mataji Shrimati Asha Bhosle ka aaj nidhan ho chuka hai. Kal subah 11 baje wo jahan rehti thi, Casa Grande, Lower Parel, wahan par jinko antim darshan lene hai… aap wahan aaiye aur 4 baje kal Shivaji Park me inka antim sanskar hoga.” (My mother Asha Bhosle has passed away today. Whoever wants to pay their last respects can come to her place, Casa Grande in Lower Parel. Her last rites will be done in Shivaji Park at 4 pm).
Early reports suggested that Asha was unwell and under medical supervision for some time. Her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had previously shared an update. She noted, “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively.” However, the news of the singer’s demise came on Sunday, April 12.
Spanning an extraordinary career of over seven decades, Asha Bhosle has left an indelible mark on Indian music. With thousands of recordings across languages, she navigated genres like classical, ghazals, pop and cabaret with remarkable ease. Her collaborations with R. D. Burman resulted in some of Bollywood’s most enduring songs, many of which continue to captivate listeners. Renowned for her adaptability and expressive range, she consistently evolved with the times, redefining her artistry across generations.
She shared a close musical legacy with her sister, Lata Mangeshkar, and together they defined the golden age of Hindi film music. Over the years, Asha Bhosle received numerous accolades, including prestigious Filmfare Awards, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan, recognising her immense contribution to the arts.
