Startup Muster Is Back & Every WA Founder Should Take The Survey

When it comes to influence, data is currency. Every year, Startup Muster releases a comprehensive snapshot of Australia’s startups, founders, and the state of the ecosystem. The resulting report is read by investors, policymakers, founders, journalists, and everyone in between. Okay, maybe not everyone….

This year’s survey is now open, running until Sunday, August 18th, and WA’s contribution is more important than ever. So complete it and share it far and wide.

What is Startup Muster?

Founded in 2013, Startup Muster exists to measure and publish the progress, challenges, and opportunities within the Australian startup ecosystem. It is Australia’s largest startup survey, open to founders, startup team members, investors, and supporters. The annual report delivers data that shapes media coverage, influences government, guides grant programs, and informs investment.

Why participate?

It’s easy to complain about the lack of funding for WA startups, the slow progress on local policy reform, or the recurring sense that Sydney and Melbourne are getting all the attention. But when the national data gets tallied up, every missing response from WA is another excuse for decision-makers to keep overlooking the West.

Startup Muster is as close as we get to a collective census for the sector. It covers everything from the technologies we’re working on to the obstacles we face and the government support provided to the sector. This data is used to lobby for changes, justify investment, and challenge tired stereotypes about where real innovation happens in Australia.

Every WA founder and operator who takes the time to fill it out the survey sends a signal that we’re here, we’re serious, and our issues and achievements deserve national attention.
