Bollywood celebrities have reacted strongly after Pakistan violated the newly announced ceasefire with India. Just hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump brokered a “full and immediate ceasefire” between the two nations, reports surfaced that Pakistan had already broken the agreement.

Vedang Raina, known for The Archies and Jigra, was among the first to speak out. Reacting to the news, he wrote, “I have no words. A few hours…”—expressing disbelief and anger at the violation.

Parineeti Chopra also reacted emotionally, sharing a screenshot of a tweet that included her husband, politician Raghav Chadha. The tweet read: “In less than 3 hours, PAKISTAN HAS VIOLATED THE CEASEFIRE! Reports coming in from the western sector. Drone sighting reported in Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and other parts of Punjab. Shelling and UAV activity continue in Jammu & Kashmir. Pakistan is a rogue nation that can never be trusted. THE WORLD NEEDS TO SEE THIS.” Parineeti simply captioned it, “No words.”

Interestingly, earlier this week, many celebrities had supported the initial ceasefire. Raveena Tandon called it a “welcome step,” but added that any further terror attack would be considered “an act of war.”

Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Ananya Panday, Shekhar Kapur, Hina Khan, Karan Johar, Rasha Thadani, Uorfi Javed, Triptii Dimri, and Varun Dhawan had also posted messages supporting peace—but stressed the importance of national security.

The ceasefire agreement came after India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 innocent lives. The operation destroyed nine terrorist facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

As tensions continue to rise, Bollywood remains vocal in both its grief and its patriotism—united in support of India’s defence forces and the need for accountability.
