The US Consulate General in Perth marked the 250th anniversary of American independence with a celebration at RAC Arena last Wednesday evening, drawing a broad cross-section of the state’s political, business, and innovation communities.

Among those in attendance were Premier Roger Cook, Minister for Science and Innovation Stephen Dawson, and representatives from across Perth’s startup and tech ecosystem, including Curtin University, Spacecubed, and StartupWA. The turnout reflected the growing links between Western Australia’s innovation sector and the United States, a relationship that spans research collaboration, investment, and trade.

The evening brought together founders, investors, academics, and public officials under one roof, offering a rare chance for the local ecosystem to mingle with government and diplomatic figures.
