Bollywood actor R Madhavan recently called out wellness and functional health brand Elevate Now for allegedly using his video and image without his consent to promote weight loss programmes. Following this, the actor took to his Instagram handle and shared that he had sent a legal notice to a healthcare brand for using his name and an interview clip of him to advertise their brand.

Madhavan, while sharing the screenshot of the post on social media, wrote, “What a shame. How do these people and organisations think they can get away with this? You cannot take a clip of somebody’s interview and make it part of your endorsement. Legal notice sent. Please BEWARE of these kinds of professionals and organisations (sic).”

The actor further added that in the reel, it seemed as if he was promoting the brand’s product and that the clip had been taken from an interview without any permission.

Madhavan further wrote, “This reel is making it sound like I’m endorsing their product. They have just taken a clip from an interview without any permission and used it as an endorsement from my end. How are the public ever going to believe these people are their treatment. Shame (sic).” He followed it with the words, “LEGAL NOTICE SENT”.

According to a report from INDIA TODAY, Madhavan had earlier spoken about his natural, self-directed approach to fitness and weight management. The actor said that he achieved a 21-day fitness transformation through intermittent fasting, mindful eating and disciplined habits, rather than fad diets. His latest post focused on the alleged unauthorised use of that image and video and his warning against treating it as an endorsement.

On the work front, R Madhavan was last seen in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. His upcoming projects include YRF’s Alpha, Tamil films Adhirshtasaali and GDN, and a bilingual project titled Circle.
